The Canon EOS 20D Features And Specification Review

First introduced in November 2004 , Canon EOS 20D is a 8.0MP Semi-Pro DSLR camera with a APS-C (22.5 x 15 mm ) sized CMOS sensor. Canon replaced the older Canon EOS 10D with this model and later 20D was replaced with Canon EOS 30D. Canon 20D has a 8.0MP APS-C (22.5 x 15 mm ) sized CMOS sensor . You can shoot at maximum resolution of 3504 x 2336 pixels with aspect ratios of and 3:2. 20D has a native ISO range of 100 – 1600 which can be boosted to 3200 and it can save files in RAW format which gives you a wider room for post processing.

First opinions of the EOS 20D are perfect, it seems far less ‘prosumer like’ and instead seems more like a ‘baby EOS-1D’ (as described by one of our team). Gone are some of the problems of the EOS 10D, the 20D now changes on almost immediately and concentrates easily, it seems very strong and yet is a little bit less than the style and style it changes. So far so great.

Canon EOS 20D Body And Design

Although a bit more compact than the EOS 10D the overall style and structure is very identical, and that’s really not a bad factor, there was little about the style of the EOS 10D which attracted critique. A few simple changes like bigger control buttons and the moving of key brands have been done to take the overall appearance and experience of the digicam more using the expert EOS Digitals. Somehow (and I’ve still not were able to determine why) the EOS 20D seems that little bit more expert than the EOS 10D, perhaps it’s a switch to the information used or the colour but it really does experience even more resilient.

LCD Panel

On top of you is a large LCD board which provides a variety of details about the current digicam configurations and visibility. The main number part of board enhances up to provide other types of data such as the ‘Busy’ caution, ISO setting and handling parameter set when these are being modified. The board has an lemon backlight which is lighted by pushing the backlight key to the top left of the board, the backlight remains on for six a few moments.

The EOS 20D’s viewfinder is obvious and shiny with a top-notch eyepiece lens (very little area distortion). It has an all new ‘Precision Matte’ concentrating display which was created to have a more fairly neutral shade reaction and provide better guide concentrate with quicker contacts thanks to a higher alternation in cloud at the concentrate point (in use I have to believe the fact, it’s a recognizable enhancement over the 10D which I never regarded ‘bad’).

Battery pack Charger

As with the EOS 10D the 20D is provided with the CB-5L battery charger, it’s relatively small and light and portable and easy to pack for trips. Cost time is around 90 minutes and the LED on the top of battery charger indicates charge progress.

CompactFlash Compartment

The CompactFlash section on the EOS 20D is at the back corner of the hand hold and is started out by moving the entrance towards you and tossing in an outward direction. The entrance itself has a metal depend and reveals with enough to remove the CF card once thrown. Most importantly the CF activity light has shifted from a gap in the section entrance to just below the quick control switch on the back of you.

Internal flash

The interior display has information number of 13 (approx. 3.3 m @ 17 mm / 2.3 m @ 85 mm; ISO 100) and a extensive position protection of 17 mm. Assistance for E-TTL II indicates that lens range information is now used to determine the essential display power. Flash synchronize rate is up a little bit to 1/250 sec.
